衢州学院外国语学院/国际教育学院简介

外国语学院/国际教育学院前身为浙江师范大学衢州进修部外语系,创办于1986年。现有英语(师范)、商务英语2个本科专业和1个商务英语专科专业,设英语系、商务英语系、大学英语教研部三个基层教学组织。

学院现有专任教师51人,高级职称教师10人,博士学位教师3人,硕士学位教师44,硕博学位教师占比96%“双师双能”型教师22人,具有海外学习背景的教师20人。45岁以下教师44人,占比86%师资队伍呈现年轻化、国际化、多元化特点。

学院建有校级重点学科“外国语言学及应用语言学”,下设课程与教学论、文学与翻译、语言学及应用语言学三个学科方向;外国语言技术研究所为校级研究机构,从外语教学及社会培训理论与实践研究、外语翻译理论与实践研究、商务英语理论与实践研究三个方面开展教科研与社会服务工作。近五年,承担各类教科研项目80余项,其中省部级科研项目5项,横向科研项目17项,省级教改课题3项,省级一流课程8门;出版专著译著8部,教材4部,发表教科研论文80余篇,其中二级以上论文10余篇;建博士工作站2个。

 学院现有在校生近750名,学生报到率、就业率均在95%以上,专四、专八通过率高出全国高校平均通过率10%左右,考研率年均10%左右,近三年50多名学生考取四川大学、上海大学、东北林业大学、南京师范大学、香港岭南大学、英国利兹大学、弗罗茨瓦夫大学等国内外知名高校研究生。每年选派3-5名学生赴浙江师范大学、浙江工商大学交流学习。学院重视培养学生社会实践能力,每年选派20多人为衢州市祭孔大典及各项世界级赛事提供翻译和服务工作,为衢州市外事与侨务办公室、衢州市贸促会等各类企事业单位提供商务洽谈或外语技术支持。

 学院设有外语与商贸实验教学中心,含3个专业语言实验室,1个商务英语综合实训室,1个跨境电商实训室,1个英语智慧实验室,1VR沉浸式外语实训;资料室藏书6000余册、各种学报及专业杂志40多种,为师生教科研活动提供了良好条件。

学院重视国际交流与合作,2位教师获国家留学基金委项目,20多位教师到德国、美国、澳大利亚等国家进行学习交流。成功举办“一带一路”文明交流互鉴与应用型外语人才培养国际研讨会;承办“汉语桥”国际留学生培训项目。

学院围绕“语通中外、崇德尚能、全面发展”的理念,坚持以教育教学为中心,以学生成长成才为出发点,加强学科专业建设,强化特色,提升内涵,积极培养与时俱进的应用型外语人才,服务于地方经济社会的发展。



College of Foreign Languages and International Education(CFL), formerly known as the Foreign Languages Section of the Quzhou Branch of Zhejiang Normal University, was founded in 1986. CFL now has three programs - two undergraduate programs, English (Education) and Business English, and oneassociate degree program - Business English. CFL consists of three departments: English Department, Business English Department, and College English Department.

CFL currently has 51 full-time teachers, 10 associate professors, 3 Ph.D. candidates, and 44 teachers with master's degrees. 96% of full-time faculty have doctoral or master degrees. There are also 22 dual-qualification teachers, and more than 20 teachers with overseas study backgrounds. 44 teachers under 45 years old, accounting for 86%. The faculty presents the characteristics of youthfulness, internationalization and diversification.

The college has established "Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics" as a school-level key discipline, and has three orientations: curriculum and teaching theory, literature and translation, linguistics and applied linguistics; the Institute of Foreign Language Technology is a school-level research institution carrying out teaching, scientific research and social services from three aspects: foreign language teaching and social training theory and practice research, translation theory and practice research as well as business English theory and practice research. In the past five years, CFL has undertaken more than 80 various teaching and scientific research projects, including5 provincial and ministerial-level projects,17 horizontal/transversal research projects, 3 provincial-level educational reform projects, and 8 provincial first-class courses; has published 8 monographs and translations, 4 textbooks, and more than 80 teaching and research papers including more than 10 articles above the second class; has established 2 doctoral workstations.

There are currently more than 750 students in the college, and the student registration rate and employment rate are maintained above 95%. The pass rate of TEM4 and TEM8 is 10% higher than the national average pass rate of colleges and universities. The rate of taking postgraduate entrance examinations averages about 10% per year. In recent years, more than 50 students have been admitted to well-known universities at home and abroad, such as Sichuan University, Shanghai University, Northeast Forestry University, Nanjing Normal University, Lingnan University, University of Leeds, and University of Wroclaw. The college has established cooperative relations with many universities at home and abroad, and each year 3-5 students are auditioned to study in Zhejiang Normal University and Zhejiang Gongshang University. CFL attaches great importance to cultivating students’ social practice ability. Every year, more than 20 students are selected to provide translation service for Quzhou City’s Confucian Memorial Ceremony and various world-class events, and help with business negotiations for various enterprises and institutions such as Quzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Quzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade and foreign language technical support.

CFL is well equipped with up-to-date teaching facilities and good learning environment. The foreign language and commerce experimental teaching center now has 3 professional language laboratories, one comprehensive business English training room, one cross-border e-commerce training room, one English smart laboratory, and one VR immersive foreign language training room. The reference room has a collection of more than 6000 books, over 40 types of journals and professional magazines which provide good environments for teachers and students to launch scientific research activities.

The college attaches importance to international exchange and cooperation. Two teachers were awarded the project of China Scholarship Council, and more than 20 teachers went to Germany, the United States, Australia and other countries for study and exchange. The college successfully held the international seminar on "The Belt and Road" civilization intercourse and cultivation of applied foreign language talents, and hosted the "Chinese Bridge" international student training program.

With the concept of “boosting international communication, advocating morality and upholding ability, encouraging all-round development”, CFL stresses the importance of teaching quality, giving the priority to students’ growth and achievements, paying close attention to the construction of discipline and major, acting on the principle of promoting the development of the majors based on disciplines.
